In many African countries people go to hospital to die. Sabah in Nouakchott is one of them. Abandoned by its former funders – the Kuwaiti government – there are hardly any beds left. The sick – tuberculosis patients, many terminally ill – are cared for by virtually no one but their families. They look at what is left of their lives, hopeless, between the four rags that cover them.
